Beware of Pop Up Ads

Got this from ZD Net today:

Security Alert: A Trojan horse that installs itself through a pop-up ad can read keystrokes and steal passwords when victims visit any of nearly 50 targeted banking sites--including Citibank, Barclays Bank and Deutsche Bank--security researchers warned yesterday. Microsoft said IE users should raise security settings to high until the company issues a patch.

If you're like me, I do all of my banking and bill paying via the web. Haven't stepped into a bank in quite a while. Luckily though, this particular problem is not directed at my bank, Bank Of America. Here is the complete list of bank url's this hacker is trying to reach. See if one of them is yours.

"Microsoft said IE users should raise security settings..." I would suggest not using IE at all, at least not until Gates and company solve this problem. Of course, as usual, those of us not using Windows machines don't have to worry at all. Thanks for spreading the word.
